What’s International Women’s Day?
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
The theme this year is #EmbraceEquity. The campaign aims to encourage important conversations on’ Why equal opportunities aren’t enough’ and ‘Why equal isn’t always fair’. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

Why we celebrate International Women’s Day in the office?
With 50% of our workforce being women, we believe in equality in the workplace.
Women’s day celebrations in the workplace is about acknowledging the courage, dedication, and effort they put into their daily lives.
At Carrier Bag Shop, we have women that come from different backgrounds therefore we provide support to them such as flexible working, equal opportunities, equal pay and inclusiveness.
